The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes follows the the gentleman detective Holmes and his companion Dr. Watson through twelve of their most famous cases. These stories were originally published in 1891 and 1892. The Sherlock Holmes character remains popular to this day: director Guy Ritchies next movie, "Sherlock Holmes" stars Robert Downey, Jr. as Mr. Holmes. The movie is set for a Christmas 2009 release.
